On Friday, January 10, Objects in Space released their single, “Roses Grow from Shells.”
Formerly known as Seasonal, the OKC band changed their name to Objects in Space on December 15. This is the first song released under that name. Less than 48 hours after the change, “Roses Grow from Shells” was given a music video (shown below) in spite of its premiere date being January 10.
“Roses Grow from Shells” begins as a haunting melody reflecting on existence. A flurry of clashes breaks in as an explosion of emotion, transitioning from a dark telling on innermost thoughts to a screaming attempt at freedom. The transition occurs a couple more times, going between a haunting melody to a screaming explosion, causing the seven-minute song to bungee-jump through several portrayals of emotion.
